The Schwarzman Scholarship provides one year of master’s degree study at Tsinghua University in Beijing in one of three fields:  public policy, international studies, or economics and business.  Instruction will be in English.  Applicants must have an excellent academic record and demonstrate leadership and openness to other cultures.  Citizens of all countries are eligible.  Candidates must be at least 18 but not yet 29 years of age.  English proficiency test scores must be submitted if English is not the applicant’s native language.

In addition to the application itself, applicants are required to submit the following:

  • Resume
  • College transcript(s)
  • Essay (three sections:  personal statement, leadership, and current affairs)
  • Four letters of recommendation

For currently enrolled undergraduate students, one of the letters must be an institutional letter of recommendation.  This will be provided by Cornell’s fellowships coordinator, Beth Fiori (BTF1@cornell.edu).  List her as the institutional letter writer well before the September 15 deadline.
